PROCESS OF QUALITY CONTROL
1.Inward Stores
A. Products Drawing and Specifications:
All bought out components conform to our drawing, specifying dimensions and necessary tolerances. The raw materials required with details of compositions, etc. are specified on the relevant drawings.
B. Inward Inspection
All bought out components undergo rigid inspection at the time of receiving Sampling Inspection is carried out in the pressed components and other items produced on automate. On critical items like rotor shafts, bushings, etc, 100% inspection is carried out.
C. Test Certificates:
Test certificates for most components are not considered to be critical for manufacturing of fans. The most important raw material like stampings is bought only from manufacturers like M/S. Guest Keen Williams, who supply this item to most other manufacturers. Similarly raw materials like Copper, Aluminum are again purchased from reputed manufacturer who certify their own quality.
D. Test Facilities:
Adequate testing facilities exist in our factory premises to conduct critical tests.
E. Inspection Records:
Inspection records are maintained supplier-wise and periodic follow-up action is taken-up with the supplier to advise them on how to maintain their quality level.
2. Process Control
A. Stage Inspection
The Inspector inspects first piece of every production process before the production is allowed to proceed. Thereafter, the Inspector employs periodic checks at various stages. Before the material is transferred from one department to another, check is made to certify the correctness of the quality. Proper records are maintained, which are personally supervised the Director.
B. Impregnation and Varnishing
The process of impregnation and varnishing is carried out in a very sophisticated manner by the process of vacuum impregnation. A well equipped plant exists at the premises for this purpose. Specially qualified personnel operate this plant.
C. Assembly Inspection
All sub-assemblers are inspected according to the specification laid down and record is maintained of the inspection done. Inspection of the final assembly is done at a later stage as described below.
Product Control
All finished fans are 100% inspected and the following tests are performed.
a. Current comsumption Test b. Wattage Test
c. Lock Rotor Test d. High Voltage Test
e. R.P. M. Test f. Vibration Test
g. Noise Level Test
Individual records are maintained for each fan inspected.
Air Delivery Test:
Facilities exist for air delivery test in the factory premises and sample check is exercised to maintain quality
Plating and Painting
Specially qualified staff exercises adequate process controls, and the paint and plating finishing are periodically evaluated.
Plating Thickness, Viscosity etc.
While the painting procedure is carried out, at every filing, viscosity check is done.
Packing Control
A. Pacing Designs:
Package designs have been evolved in a very scientific manner in consultation with packing experts. It will be worth while mentioning that our packing has very highly appreciated by all concerned. Packing specification is of permanent nature of each type of fans and the same is maintained.
B. Drop Test Etc.
As mentioned above, the packing specifications are not changed on a lot-to-lot basis. All tests lile Drop Test; Rolling Test. Etc. were carried out before finalizing the pacing design. However, in order to maintain high standards of quality, these packages are periodically inspected to maintain conformity to our specifications.
3. Testing Equipments
A. Mechanical:
Various types of plug gauges, thread, filler gauges, snap gauges, slip gauges, Vernier Calipers, wire gauges, master gauges, go and no-go gauges, micrometers, height gauges, level gauges, spirit level gauges. Pyrometers. Sine-Bars, Radius gauges, Square heads, Centre Heads, Hardness Tester (Rockwell) shore Hardness tester, Surface Plates, Mechanical Tachometer. Texture Microscopes, Bench Centers, Dial Gauges and InternalMicrometers.
B. Electrical:
Ammeters, Voltmeters, Watt meters, voltage regulators, Multi-meters, Comparators, Wheat-stone Bridge, Meggar High Voltage testing Equipment, Frequency Selector, Electronic Tachometer, Pin hole Testing . Equipment's Abrasion tester, Continuity tester and digital thermometers.
C. For Painted Surface
Ford's up viscosity testing instrument, scratch hardness tester, Film Thickness mendrill flexibility tester, glasso meter tester, cover checking board etc.
D. Platting Test
DMF Jet tester, salt spray chamber and full fledged chemical laboratory.
E. Special Instruments
Anemometer, Non contact tester, Strobe Flash tester, Dynamic Balancing Machine, Vibrator, Humidity Test Chamber, etc.
